About Chazmond

Chazmond is a Brooklyn-based versatile singer/actor who feels as comfortable singing Broadway and contemporary musical theater repertoire as he does performing in light operas in the vein of Gilbert and Sullivan.

He has had the opportunity to tour the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe in productions such as the 2008-2009 Oliver! National Tour as Mr. Bumble, as well as Mingo in the 75th Anniversary Tour of Porgy and Bess, an opera he has also performed at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, and in Europe. He has performed frequently at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Harrogate, England, where he was nominated as Best Male Performer for his portrayal of The Duke of Dunstable in Patience in 2015. Most recently, he reprised the role of Cyril in Princess Ida at the festival in August, 2019. Some other favorite roles include: Coalhouse in Ragtime, Albin/Zaza (La Cage aux Folles), The Baker (Into The Woods), Jim Conley (Parade), Jud Fry (Oklahoma) and Marco Palmieri in The Gondoliers.

When not performing professionally, Chaz, as he is referred to most affectionately by friends and colleagues, can be found at his favorite place, Midtown Comics, or as an avid NYC theater and opera supporter.
